It has a gorgeous fluid engine, and most puzzles involved manipulating or avoiding these in some ways, collecting gems and rescuing miners\u2026 It doesn\u2019t have much in a way of storyline, and its just an arcade game that\u2019s fun to play\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>Check out the gameplay (easier than trying to explain):<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px\" id=\"scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:bd22a97e-2dd9-4e61-85a0-d7304ba0ec1b\" class=\"wlWriterEditableSmartContent\">\n<div><object width=\"531\" height=\"298\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/QiV33QeLoTM?hl=en&amp;hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/QiV33QeLoTM?hl=en&amp;hd=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"531\" height=\"298\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As I said, loads of fun\u2026 There\u2019s always a but, though; the gameplay doesn\u2019t seem as fun as the first one, don\u2019t know if it is because the first one was new, and this game feels more suitable as an expansion pack than as a new game (although it\u2019s long enough to justify full price)\u2026 The boss fights were harder and better designed, in my opinion, but the puzzles themselves were straightforward (and the lightless sections, which take up half the game) tend to get boring after a bit\u2026 8\/10<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/portal2-010-620x335.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"portal2-010-620x335\" border=\"0\" alt=\"portal2-010-620x335\" src=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/portal2-010-620x335_thumb.jpg\" width=\"493\" height=\"273\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ah, this is a gem\u2026 Although the critics were a bit nasty to this one, I think it was rather unfair.<\/p>\n<p>Portal 2 is basically the same as Portal 1 (first person, puzzle based), but on steroids\u2026 It\u2019s longer, it has more stuff thrown in (the gels, that give different properties to surfaces, like making you run faster, jump higher or being able to put portals in any surface), and the humor is great.<\/p>\n<p>The environment is the real star in this game, telling a story by itself\u2026 It goes even a step further than the first Portal game, by going back to the 50s showing the initial \u201cAperture Science\u201d facility\u2026 No, it\u2019s not time travel or flashback\u2026 <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile\" alt=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/wlEmoticon-smile1.png\" \/> The game has now three voices instead of just one, GLaDOS returns, the sense and type of humor is intact\u2026 The only caveat might be that the puzzles are a wee bit easier this time around, but that might be because I\u2019m already thinking in portals\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The game got so immersive that when I went outside after playing, I was looking at surfaces and thinking \u201cI could make a portal there\u201d! <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an amazing game and I can hardly wait to play the co-op (since loads of people have told me it\u2019s the best part of the game\u2026 if that\u2019s true, it will be like crack!)\u2026 If I find the co-op that amazing, I\u2019ll add an addendum to this! <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile\" alt=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/wlEmoticon-smile1.png\" \/> 10\/10<\/p>\n<div id=\"tweetbutton487\" class=\"tw_button\" style=\"\"><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?url=http%3A%2F%2Fshadowcovenant.com%2Fblog%2F2011%2F07%2F01%2Fpixel-junk-shooter-2-and-portal-2%2F&amp;text=Pixel%20Junk%20Shooter%202%20and%20Portal%202&amp;related=&amp;lang=en&amp;count=horizontal&amp;counturl=http%3A%2F%2Fshadowcovenant.com%2Fblog%2F2011%2F07%2F01%2Fpixel-junk-shooter-2-and-portal-2%2F\" class=\"twitter-share-button\"  style=\"width:55px;height:22px;background:transparent url('http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-tweet-button\/tweetn.png') no-repeat  0 0;text-align:left;text-indent:-9999px;display:block;\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sequel galore!
