{"id":77,"date":"2010-08-21T23:44:51","date_gmt":"2010-08-21T22:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/21\/calling-it-for-the-night\/"},"modified":"2010-08-21T23:44:51","modified_gmt":"2010-08-21T22:44:51","slug":"calling-it-for-the-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/21\/calling-it-for-the-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Calling it for the night&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last hours have been most productive&#8230; I added 4 types of enemies (soldier, archer, dragon and wizard), each with their own special strenghts and weaknesses, and different types of attacks (melee, ranged, aoe)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It was easy adding them in my data-driven system, which is totally awesome, at least that&#8217;s well design&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/screen06.jpg\" title=\"screen06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shadowcovenant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/zrtn_007n2cff0ed_tn.jpg\" style=\"BORDER-BOTTOM: #000000 1px; BORDER-LEFT: #000000 1px; BORDER-TOP: #000000 1px; BORDER-RIGHT: #000000 1px\" height=\"387\" width=\"500\" alt=\"screen06.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are still balancing issues, although not many&#8230; still not a game, missing the power gems (to restore mana, health and &#8220;wall strenght&#8221;), game over and win conditions, m<span class=\"text_exposed_hide\">&#8230;<\/span><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">ore levels, title screen and instructions&#8230; Instructions are particularly scary, since the game is quite complicated already from a mechanics standpoint&#8230; and I didn&#8217;t even add more spells and RPG-like attributes like critical strikes and attack speed. <br \/>Some graphics need lots of work aswell, and it would be nice if the characters would face whoever<\/span> <span class=\"text_exposed_show\">they&#8217;re attacking, but that will take much longer than I have, specially considering my drawing skills&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">Tomorrow I own&#8217;t have much time to work on the game, since I have family visiting&#8230; going to try geting most of the work done in the morning and at night, specially late night (after 11pm or so until 3am, which is the compo&#8217;s finishing time in my timezone).
